Akron police continuing to search for suspects in connection with shooting at Spring Hill Apartments

Akron police identified at least two other persons of interest who were involved and are currently seeking their whereabouts.

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are continuing to search for two suspects who were involved in a shooting at the Spring Hill Apartments earlier this month. 

Following the shooting that happened on Thursday, Sept. 5, in the 1200 block of Everton Drive, investigators identified multiple suspects who were involved in the incident.

Eighteen-year-old Tra'Miere Walker and a 16-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the incident. Walker was charged with inducing panic, carrying concealed weapon and felonious assault. 

The teenage boy was charged with felonious assault. 

Akron police also released a video of the incident, which can be viewed in the media player at the top of the story.

At this time, Akron police are continuing to investigate. They have identified at least two other persons of interest who were involved and are currently seeking their whereabouts.  

CASE DETAILS 

The shooting happened on Thursday at around 4:36 p.m. in the 1200 block of Everton Drive. According to police, "two groups of unidentified people exchanged gunfire with one another in the parking lot."

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found an 18-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers administered first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury. 

Police say they searched several apartments following the shooting after suspects fled from the scene and went into the buildings.  

Police recovered four firearms, dozens of shell casings and other evidence from the scene. In addition, bullets struck multiple cars parked in the parking lot.
