AKRON, Ohio — New information has been released regarding a 13-year-old girl who was found dead in an Akron alley more than two months ago.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Tuesday that the girl’s cause of death was “combined fentanyl and methamphetamine toxicity.” The manner of death, however, has been listed as “undetermined.”
“If additional information becomes available that allows the manner of death to be discerned, the information can be reviewed, and the manner of death may be reclassified based on the new information,” according to a press release from the Summit County Medical Examiner.
Police say the girl’s body was found on June 12 in an alley along the 400 block of South Arlington Street. Officers had responded to the scene around 12:55 p.m. and found “no apparent signs of trauma.”
