AKRON, Ohio — A 56-year-old woman has been arrested in Akron and charged with operating an illegal gambling house in the 200 block of East Market Street.
Following an investigation, Akron police officers executed a search warrant at the location around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday night.
“During the operation, officers seized nearly two dozen gambling machines, two handguns, electronics and over $7,000 in cash,” according to a press release from the Akron Police Department.
The woman’s name was not released, but police did provide multiple photos from the investigation.

“The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests and charges are likely,” police said.
Police also said a 51-year-old man was initially detained, but later released.
No additional details were immediately available.
