CANTON, Ohio — An overnight house fire is under investigation in Canton where authorities said flames were found coming from the attic windows and ridgeline of the roof when they responded to the scene in the 1000 block of Sherlock Place NE shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday.
The Canton Fire Department says that while firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, there was heavy damage to the home, which was being renovated and unoccupied at the time of the incident.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
Damages are estimated at $25,600 to the structure and $2,000 to the contents.
No injuries were reported.
