CLEVELAND — Summit County authorities have arrested a man in connection to an Akron shooting that killed a man in March.
Harry Wilkinson, 76, was arrested Thursday morning and charged with reckless homicide, according to a news release from the Akron Police Department.
Wilkinson is accused of killing 43-year-old Bryan McNeil in the early hours of March 13.
McNeil was found near a shed in a wooded area yards away from West Waterloo Road. He was pronounced dead at a hospital shortly after police found him conscious and breathing with a gunshot wound to the torso.
Police said investigators wrestled with the "little-known facts" surrounding McNeil's death.
"As the investigation progressed, investigators obtained additional information and developed evidence identifying a person of interest," police said.
Wilkinson was arrested by Summit County Sheriff's Office deputies and booked into the Summit County Jail.
