AKRON, Ohio — A 37-year-old man is dead after a Friday morning shooting in Akron.
It was around 7:22 a.m. when officers responded to the scene at Russell Avenue and Boulevard Street after a 21-year-old man called police to say he shot another man who allegedly tried to take his motorcycle.
Upon arriving on the scene, Akron police found the victim on the ground with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The man later died at an Akron hospital. His name has not yet been released.
Police say they detained the shooter and questioned him at the police station.
The incident remains under investigation.
