AKRON, Ohio — Investigators from the Akron Police Traffic Division are seeking help from the public regarding a hit-skip incident that occurred on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at approximately 7:06 a.m.
Police say a pedestrian was crossing East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue southbound at North Main Street when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. There were no witnesses to the crash.
The call initially came into the police to check the welfare of a male laying in the road. EMS transported the man to Summa Health Akron City Hospital. Medical professionals determined that the male was struck by an automobile based on the severity of his injuries. The 63-year-old male is listed in serious condition.
Akron Police are asking anyone that may have witnessed the incident or has any information about what happened to call them at the Hit-Skip Bureau at (330) 375-2508. The vehicle involved will have front-end damage and possibly windshield damage.
