BEACHWOOD, Ohio — The Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) has been requested to assist the Beachwood Police Department following a fatal shooting at the Embassy Suites on Park East Drive.
According to Steven Irwin with the BCI, the request was submitted to help police process a crime scene.
Beachwood police tells 3News that they first received calls reporting shots fired at 11:43 a.m. and officers and paramedics were immediately dispatched.
"Upon arrival a male was located in the parking lot and was determined to be deceased. It was apparent that he had been shot," Beachwood police said in a press release.
911 calls obtained by 3News indicate that at least one person was shot in the parking lot of the hotel Tuesday afternoon.
Calls to 911 also indicate that at least two suspects were seen fleeing on foot heading towards Chagrin Boulevard following the incident. One caller described the suspects as thin and wearing gray and black hoodies.
No other information is available at this time.
