CANTON, Ohio — Canton Police responded to a shooting on 15th Street Northwest just before 11 p.m. Wednesday, where a 23-year-old man was seriously injured.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a victim with several gunshot wounds to the lower body outside an apartment building.
Canton Fire Department officials took the victim to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital where he is being held with life-threatening wounds.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Jadean Weatherford from Canton.
During the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as 37-year-old Corey Thompson of Malvern. Thompson was arrested and is being charged with felonious assault and having weapons under disability.
