CANTON, Ohio — Three people were rescued from an overnight fire with nine displaced at a multi-residential building in the 900 block of Raff Road SW in Canton.
The situation started shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday when firefighters with the Canton Fire Department responded to the scene.
Upon their arrival, fire crews began searching for victims while making efforts to extinguish the flames.
One person was taken to Aultman Hospital with serious burns, while Canton fire officials say another man and woman were evaluated on the scene. A firefighter was also taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The rest of those inside were able to exit the building on their own.
Fire officials say mutual aid was provided by the Plain Township Fire Department.
The American Red Cross has also been called in to assist the nine people who have been displaced.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
