CANTON, Ohio — Canton police say two teen boys -- ages 15 and 17 -- have been arrested for a deadly shooting that took place Wednesday morning in the 1000 block of 3rd Street NW.
Police say it was around 10:19 a.m. when officers responded to the scene where they found a 46-year-old man unresponsive in a kitchen. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the neck.
The victim, identified by Canton police as Tramell M. Childs of Massillon, was later pronounced dead at Aultman Hospital.
“Detectives were able to identify a suspect, and with the assistance of the Stark County Juvenile Prosecutor, were able to obtain arrest warrants,” police said in a press release Thursday morning.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday on charges of complicity to commit murder, complicity to commit felonious assault and complicity to commit aggravated robbery.
Canton police say the 17-year-old boy was arrested around 8:37 a.m. Thursday. He has been charged with complicity to commit murder, complicity to commit felonious assault and complicity to commit aggravated burglary.
Both teens are from Canton.
