The Canton Police Department says the incident happened around 8:07 p.m. when Horace Jones was traveling in the roadway along the 1000 block of Market Avenue North.
Police say the suspect fled the scene, but the vehicle was later recovered by officers.
Jones, of Canton, was unresponsive at the scene and later died at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, according to police.
