29-year-old suspect arrested for shooting, killing two in Cleveland

The shootings occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

The Cleveland Division of Police has arrested a man in connection to Tuesday morning shootings in Cleveland. 

According to a press release, on March 16 around 1 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of W. 54th Street and Storer Avenue. Reports also indicated that a male and female had been shot inside of a vehicle.

As police arrived on the scene, officers found a man in the driver's seat, and a female passenger, both shot. Police attempted life-saving measures until Emergency Medical Services arrived, but both individuals were later pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cleveland Division of Police's Homicide Unit reported to the scene to investigate, and following interviews with several witnesses, a suspect was identified. 

The 29-year-old man, who has yet to be publicly identified, was later found and detained by members of the Second District Violent Crimes Unit. After a search, police located a handgun and narcotics.
