Cleveland Division of Fire confirms 2nd station struck by gunfire in less that a week

Officials say a bullet struck the back door frame of Station No. 24 late Sunday night. The incident came just six days after Station No. 22 was also hit.

CLEVELAND — Officials say a Cleveland Division of Fire station was struck by gunfire late Sunday night, less than a week after another station was also hit by at least one bullet.

According to Lieutenant Mike Norman, the incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. Sunday at Station No. 24 on Clark Avenue, within the Detroit-Shoreway neighborhood. He told 3News a bullet struck the back door frame, then landed on the floor.

Norman said the bullet did not cause any damage. No injuries were reported.

This comes just days after firefighters from Fire Station No. 22 on St. Clair Avenue reported that multiple shots were fired at their building last week. One bullet went through a window in the EMS room and struck a television set before hitting an air duct and coming to a rest back on the window. Again, no one was hurt.

No arrests have been made in either incident as police continue to investigate.
