New Amazon delivery station launched in Brooklyn

The facility will create great job opportunities that pay an average starting wage of $18 per hour and offer a variety of benefits, the company said.

BROOKLYN, Ohio — Editor's Note: The above video is from a prior, unrelated story about Amazon.

A new Amazon delivery station has been launched in Brooklyn, the company said in a news release.

The news comes following the investment of other buildings in Cuyahoga County, including a fulfillment center in Middleburg Heights.

The new station is located at 10575 Memphis Avenue, and according to Amazon, will "create great job opportunities that pay an average starting wage of $18 per hour and offer a variety of benefits from day one."

When it comes to the ordering process of Amazon, delivery stations "power the last mile" and help speed up deliveries, the company said.

Packages are shipped to those stations from nearby Amazon fulfillment centers, loaded into delivery trucks, then delivered to customers.

Plus, delivery stations offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to build their own businesses while delivering packages. In total, ten Delivery Service Partners will operate out of the newly launched Cleveland delivery station.

“We are excited to make these investments that will help ensure we can reliably and efficiently deliver to our growing number of customers in Greater Cleveland. We are committed to being a good community partner and we will continue to engage with the City and community members as we continue our growth across Northeast Ohio,” Amazon spokesperson Paula Morrison said.
