CLEVELAND — The all-clear has been given after Case Western Reserve University officials say "University Circle police stopped an individual who brandished a gun" before fleeing the area.
Case activated an alert at 2:25 a.m. Thursday for an “emergency reported on campus.”
“Police are investigating,” according to a tweet from CWRU. “Authorities advise the campus community to stay alert and in place and await instruction.”
CWRU gave the all clear with a new tweet a short time later at 3:15 a.m.
“Individual with a gun reported by UCPD near Wade Park and E. 118th, then fled area,” according to the updated tweet. "Police toured campus and believe no risk remains."
CWRU officials are asking those who may have information about the incident to call 216-368-3333.
