Cleveland Clinic ranks first in the nation in cardiology for 30th straight year; named to U.S. News & World Report's 'Honor Roll'

U.S. News & World Report has released its 2024-25 Best Hospitals and once again, Cleveland Clinic ranks among the elite in the nation.

CLEVELAND — For the 30th consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report has rated Cleveland Clinic as the nation's best in cardiology, heart and vascular surgery. Cleveland Clinic has also maintained its spot as one of 20 "Honor Roll" hospitals in the U.S., "with exceptional breadth and depth of excellence makeup."

The report, released on Tuesday, evaluates nearly 5,000 hospitals across the country in more than 30 medical and surgical services. Cleveland Clinic not only ranked first in heart care, but ranked in the top 10 in five other categories.

Here's how Cleveland Clinic fared in the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals national rankings by specialty:

  • Cancer: 14th
  • Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery: 1st
  • Diabetes and Endocrinology: 32nd
  • Ear, Nose & Throat: 25th
  • Gastroenterology & GI Surgery: 3rd
  • Geriatrics: 6th
  • Neurology and Neuro Surgery: 14th
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology: 4th
  • Orthopedics: 16th
  • Pulmonology and Lung Care: 9th
  • Rheumatology: 2nd
  • Urology: 5th

They are committed to excellence in every aspect of their work, not just in terms of clinical outcomes, but in also in our approach to patient experience, research and innovation, and in training the next generation of heart-care professionals.”

In addition, Cleveland Clinic's Cole Eye Institute ranked No. 9 in Ophthalmology, while Cleveland Clinic's Rehabilitation Hospital in Avon came in at No. 24 in Rehabilitation.

University Hospitals' Cleveland Medical Center and Seidman Cancer Center were also recognized by U.S. News & World Report. See below for its accolades in the U.S. News report:

  • Ohio hospital ranking: 3rd for UH Cleveland Medical Center

National ranking:

  • Cancer: 35th for UH Seidman Cancer Center
  • Ear, Nose, and Throat: No. 49 for UH Cleveland Medical Center
  • Neurology & Neurosurgery: No. 45 for UH Cleveland Medical Center

High-performing scores for specialized care:

  • Cardiology, Heart & Vascular Surgery
  • Diabetes & Endrocrinology
  • Ear, Nose, & Throat
  • Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
  • Geriatrics
  • Urology

Additionally, UH was the only Ohio-based hospital to be named to U.S. News & World Report's inaugural list of Best Regional Hospitals for Equitable Access.

Meanwhile, MetroHealth Medical Center also received a national ranking in a specialty by U.S. News & World Report:

  • Rehabilitation: 49th
