CLEVELAND — Cleveland police are asking for the public's help finding a car that sped away after hitting a pedestrian last week.
A Cleveland Division of Police spokesperson said in a news release that the hit-and-run crash happened on Friday, March 22 at around 9:20 p.m. at the corner of Waterloo Avenue and 156th Street.
Surveillance video released by police shows a car police believe may be a Ford Edge hitting a pedestrian in the crosswalk. Police say the black SUV was "observed driving at a high rate of speed through a red light" before striking the pedestrian and driving away.
Police say the car likely took damage to the passenger side from the collision and that its passenger side mirror is missing.
Anyone who has any information about the crash is asked to call the Cleveland Police Accident Investigation Unit at (216) 623-5295.
