Cleveland police: Shooting leaves 2 teens hospitalized

Police say both victims, ages 13 and 18, sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

CLEVELAND — Two teens were transported to a hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning after a shooting in Cleveland, according to a police spokesperson. 

Police say both victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The first victim, a 13-year-old girl, sustained two gunshot wounds in her legs. The second victim, an 18-year-old girl, was shot in her abdomen and arm.

The Cleveland Division of Police spokesperson said officers responded to the shooting on the 1400 block of East 111th Street at about 1:15 a.m.

Police provided medical assistance before EMS transported the teens to a hospital, where police say they are "currently listed as stable." 

The shooting remains under investigation, police said. The spokesperson said the details of the shooting are "preliminary information and subject to change as investigation evolves."
