CLEVELAND — Aaron Mays, a 33-year-old Cleveland man, has been arrested in connection with a deadly weekend shooting in the Flats.
Cleveland police told 3News that Mays was arrested and charged with murder.
He was arraigned in Cleveland Municipal Court on Monday, where a $500,000 bond was set.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 27.
According to a complaint filed by Cleveland police, Mays was allegedly found with a firearm and was detained by police at the scene. The complaint also alleges that surveillance footage showed Mays firing the handgun at the victim.
CASE DETAILS
The fatal shooting happened in The Flats on Saturday night. A Cleveland police officer on the scene near Riverbed Street and Elm Street confirmed to 3News that one victim died following the shooting.
3News crews observed as many as 60 evidence markers at the scene. Police said about 20 bullet casings were recovered.
