CLEVELAND — Water filled the streets early Thursday morning at the scene of two water main breaks in Cleveland.
Our cameras spotted the water main breaks on Berea and Triskett roads.
The other was located at West 115th Street and Clifton Boulevard.
"Water main breaks are, unfortunately, an inevitable part of water service," Cleveland Water explains on their site. "At Cleveland Water, we address an average of five breaks a day. And while they’re never convenient, we work hard to address them as quickly as possible with the least amount of disruption."
Cleveland Water says one contributing factor is weather.
"The colder the weather is for an extended period of time, the more water main breaks occur," according to Cleveland Water. "Breaks can also occur when there is a sudden increase in water pressure in a water main, such as when a fire hydrant is closed too suddenly."
3News’ Carmen Blackwell will have the latest updates on these water main breaks throughout the GO! morning show until 7 a.m.
