Cleveland Zoo extends Asian Lantern Festival again due to popular demand

The event has been extended by six nights through Sunday, Oct. 4.

CLEVELAND — So exciting! If you haven’t yet visited the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Asian Lantern Festival this year, you have six more chances to do so.

Zoo officials announced early Wednesday morning that the event has been extended through Sunday, Oct. 4.

“The extension includes additional dates to experience the full walk-through event as well as a drive-through option,” according to zoo officials. “Even with significantly reduced nightly capacity due to COVID-19, nearly than 150,000 people have already attendance this year’s festival.”

In its third year, the Asian Lantern Festival features more than 70 never-before-seen lantern displays, new acrobatic performances, interactive experiences and culturally-inspired cuisine. This year’s festival also includes the Dinosaurs Around the World experience, featuring 20 enormous animatronics along Waterfowl Lake.
