CLEVELAND — A 29-year-old man driving a motorcycle was killed in an accident that took place in Cleveland on Tuesday night.
According to Cleveland Police, the incident took place at 8 p.m. when the 29-year-old man was driving a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on State Rd. approaching Leopold Ave. at speeds well above the posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour. At the same time, a 2016 GMC Terrain operated by a 27-year-old male that was traveling northbound on State Rd. made a left turn to travel westbound on Leopold Ave. and into the path of the motorcycle.
The front end of the motorcycle proceeded to collide with the right front passenger door of the GMC Terrain. The drive of the motorcycle, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, was pronounced dead on the scene and has since been identified as Cleveland native Eugene A. Smith.
