CLEVELAND — Despite some initial uncertainty, Post Malone's concert in Cleveland went on as planned on Tuesday.
And when the "White Iverson" rapper took the stage at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, he did so paying tribute to a hometown favorite.
As he has throughout his Twelve Carat Tour, Malone -- whose real name is Austin Post -- donned a jersey of one of the city's teams. On Tuesday night, it was Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star point guard Darius Garland who got the nod, with the 27-year-old wearing one of the Cavs' new white home jerseys throughout the majority of his nearly two-hour set in Cleveland.
Malone's concert in Cleveland marked his first since he canceled his show in Boston on Saturday after he woke up feeling a "stabbing pain" while breathing. The cancellation came one week after he was forced to cut his concert in St. Louis short after he suffered bruised ribs after tripping on a hole in the stage that was designed to allow him to catch guitars during an acoustic portion of the concert.
While the cancellation left the status of Tuesday's show in Cleveland in question, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse officials confirmed to 3News that the show would go on as planned. Malone also took to social media to confirm the news, just hours ahead of the start of the show.
"Cleveland, I will be singing the F--- outta some songs tonight," Malone tweeted. "See y’all tonight."
Malone is scheduled to continue his tour at Pittsburgh's PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday.
