Public Square reopens in downtown Cleveland after police determine threat was hoax

Police say it was determined the threat was a hoax / swatting incident.

CLEVELAND — Public Square has reopened in downtown Cleveland after police tell 3News it was temporarily closed overnight due to a reported threat.

Authorities later determined the threat was a hoax / swatting incident.

Public Square reopened around 4:30 a.m. after police say the closure was initially put in place around 2:45 a.m.
