PARMA, Ohio — An 83-year-old woman is dead after being hit by a car late Monday night in Parma.
According to police, Apolonia Cambalik was "jaywalking" across Brookpark Road around 10:19 p.m. when she was struck by a Ford Focus while in the curb lane near West 33rd Street. The victim died of her injuries at the scene.
The vehicle involved was being driven by a 16-year-old girl, whom authorities say was "fully cooperative" with the officers she spoke to. Officials add they have no reason to believe she was impaired by any type of illegal substances.
