CLEVELAND — According to Cuyahoga County Sheriff Steven Hammett, a 47-year-old woman has died after being found in "distress" in her jail cell on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened at 5:42 a.m. at the Cuyahoga County Jail located at 1215 Ontario Street.
After receiving immediate medical attention in the jail, the woman was taken by EMS to Metro Health Medical Center, where she died at 6:38 a.m.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the woman as Melissa Musson.
At this time, no other information has been released.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office will perform an autopsy to determine Musson's cause of death.
