The inmate, identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office as 39-year-old Glen WIlliams, had the medical emergency at approximately 7:20 a.m. while in custody.
According to Cuyahoga County Press Secretary Jennifer Ciaccia, corrections officers and in-house medical staff responded to Williams before he was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. Williams was pronounced dead at approximately 8:30 a.m. at MetroHealth.
County records reveal that Williams was booked on Dec. 18 on a charge of assault.
