CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — UPDATE: Dispatch in Warrensville Heights has confirmed to 3News' Neil Fischer that the mother of the child has been located.
PREVIOUSLY: The Warrensville Heights Police Department and the Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services are asking for the public's help to locate the family of a child found wandering near a gas station.
According to a release, a little boy was found Wednesday morning just before 11 a.m. by "a good neighbor" on Warrensville Center Road near Southpointe Hospital at the Center Heights Service/AAA Gas Station. Warrensville Heights police responded to the scene and canvassed the area, but could not find the child's parents.
Police then brought the boy to the Cuyahoga County Division of Children and Family Services, where he is being cared for. Agency officials say the child appears to be "approximately 2 years old, is well cared for, appropriately dressed but he is not able to tell us his name."
