PARMA, Ohio — A 55-year-old has died following an early morning crash in the 7700 block of State Road in Parma.
Authorities say it happened around 2:13 a.m. Wednesday as the driver was traveling southbound on State Road near West Pleasant Valley Road when the 2009 Ford Crown Victoria struck several mailboxes before crashing into a tree.
The man was taken to University Hospitals in Parma where he later died. His name has not been released.
“The cause of the crash is unknown at this time as the male may have a medical condition,” according to a press release from the Parma Police Department. “Additional information will be learned once the toxicology results come back.”
Police say the incident remains under investigation with the Parma Police Traffic Unit handling the case.
