Lakewood residents ‘light the night’ amid COVID-19 outbreak

Residents gather to bring light during this time of uncertainty.

LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Lakewood is using light to cast out the shadows of coronavirus.

On Monday, residents of Lakewood are planning to light up the streets of the city. Residents are being encouraged to use tea lights, christmas decorations, and maybe even an iconic leg lamp to brighten up the city in the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Some in Lakewood have gotten an early start, putting up neon signs, Christmas lights and seasonal decorations on their porches.

The event encourages people to walk the streets while observing safe distancing protocols, and enjoying the lights starting at 7:00 p.m.
