MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — Maple Heights police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place this past weekend.
At approximately 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, officers responded to calls of shots fired and a "man down" in the driveway of a house on the 5100 block of Miller Avenue. When officers arrived to the scene, they found a 37-year-old man lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound. Maple Heights Fire Department and EMS arrived shortly after to provide medical aid to the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an update provided Tuesday morning, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Mohammad S. Hammad of Maple Heights.
