EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has identified human remains, which were found in East Cleveland, as Michelle Arnold, a missing woman from Warrensville Heights.
Michelle was first reported missing on Oct. 26, 2023, with her last known location being the Banbury Apartments in Warrensville Heights.
The 24-year-old's remains were found on June 3, after the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant in connection with the missing woman. The investigation led to the discovery of her body in a yard on Strathmore Avenue in East Cleveland.
Previously, her family spoke with 3News following her disappearance saying that it was unlike Michelle to leave as she was a diabetic and relied on her insulin pump to survive.
"She can't go 24 hours without her diabetic medication, we're going on three weeks as of today and the holidays are next week. This is not like her, the last time she was seen, that's why my brother's girlfriend had to go get her groceries, she only had like $1.34 to her name so it's not like she just up and I need a break," Ebony Arnold said.
Over a month after her disappearance, her family held a press conference calling upon police to do more.
"I understand that this is our loved one, this is somebody that we care about, and it is a stranger to them," Janez Vines stated. "But [show us] some compassion, a little understanding, because it doesn't feel like that."
Officials have not yet determined Arnold's cause of death.
