The Solon Police Department is mourning the loss of former K9 Stryker.
Stryker is a German shepherd that served with the police in the City of Solon from 2010-2019.
After Stryker retired in 2019, he was adopted by the family of Patrol Officer Matt Troyer, his handler in the force with whom the police department said Stryker was instrumental in solving many felony cases in the field.
“Ptl. Troyer and Stryker were also favorites at all of the community events and with children,” SPD said in a Facebook post announcing Stryker's passing. “Stryker will be missed and remembered always.”
