GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio — A 13-year-old boy and a 20-year-old woman were taken to the hospital with serious injuries Monday night after the horse-drawn Amish buggy they were riding in was involved in a crash in Geauga County.
Authorities with the Chardon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol say it was around 8:55 p.m. when the buggy “was struck from behind by a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu” on state Route 168 near the intersection of Shedd Road in Burton Township.
The driver of the Chevy, identified as a 33-year-old woman from Warren, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
“Impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash,” authorities noted in a press release early Tuesday morning.
The incident remains under investigation.
