CLEVELAND — Amazon is hiring, with thousands of positions available in Northeast Ohio.
The company announced on Tuesday it is looking to bring on 125,000 new workers in multiple cities across the country. In Ohio, the online retailer is looking to hire 9,000 people, specifically 2,800 in Greater Cleveland.
The full-time jobs Amazon is looking to fill are in fulfillment and transportation, with an average starting pay of $18 an hour plus bonuses of up to $2,000.
"All of these jobs offer comprehensive benefits that begin on the very first day," spokesperson Jessica Pawl told 3News. "Access to programs like career choice where Amazon pays full college tuition for its associates who have been at the company for at least 90 days, 401k match and other benefits."
"Announcement comes ahead of Amazon's annual Career Day on September 15—a free virtual recruiting event with 1-on-1 career coaching open to all, regardless of experience level, professional field, or background," the company added in a press release.
