MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio — Talk about deja vu.
For the third time in five days, officials have confirmed a earthquake has struck Lake County. The latest one, said by the Unites State Geological Survey to be a 2.0 on the Richter scale, occurred in Mentor-on-the-Lake around 4:23 p.m.
Earthquakes of that magnitude are normally not felt by residents, and no damage has been reported at this time. However, it is another unusual occurrence for the region not normally known for its ground shaking.
On Saturday, the USGS confirmed a 2.6 quake hit Lake County near the Lake Erie shoreline. Residents in several cities, including Cleveland, reported feeling some movement.
Just three days later, a second quake of 1.7 struck near Willowick. However, not nearly as many people reported feeling it.
The USGS is asking anyone who may have felt Wednesday's quake to share their experienced here.
