MADISON, Ohio — Did you feel it?
A 2.6 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Madison early Friday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). A quake of that scale is considered a minor event.
The Lake County quake happened at around 3:47 a.m. The USGS says the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 5.0 km.
This area has been no stranger to earthquakes in the past. Most recently, a 2.4 magnitude earthquake was reported by the USGS on Jan. 1 at 8:58 p.m.
Additionally, a 2.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded on Dec. 1 near the border of Ashtabula County.
