LAKE COUNTY, Ohio — Did you feel it?
A 2.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded in Madison early Friday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). A quake of that scale is considered a minor event.
The Lake County quake happened around 8:58 a.m. near the border with Ashtabula County. The USGS says the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 6.3 km.
This area is no stranger to earthquakes. Earlier this year, 3News previously reported a 3.6 magnitude quake happened on Aug. 27 with a 2.3 aftershock.
