MADISON, Ohio — An unnamed 39-year-old man from Perry is in custody after allegedly stealing from Walmart and driving away in a stolen vehicle.
According to the Madison Township Police Department, the alleged incident occurred on Sunday, June 12, in Madison.
Authorities say the suspect left Walmart in a reported stolen vehicle and began to travel northbound on Green Road.
An officer from the Madison Township Police Department tried to stop the suspect while driving, but he drove away and fled from the officer.
After receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Madison Township Police Officers responded and found the stolen vehicle as well as the suspect.
He's being held at the Lake County Jail on charges of failure to comply, receiving stolen property, theft, criminal trespass and multiple traffic violations.
