HENRIETTA, Ohio — A woman is dead after a Monday morning motorcycle crash in Henrietta Township.
On July 11 at approximately 2:54 a.m. the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a call for assistance from the Lorain County Sheriffs Office for a one-vehicle crash on State Route 113 near Gore Orphanage Road.
The vehicle was a Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling westbound on SR 113. After an investigation at the scene of the crash, the motorcycle failed to safely navigate a curve and overturned on the road. The driver of the motorcycle, Charles J. Martin, 32, of Wakeman sustained serious injuries. He was transported from the scene of the incident by Life Care EMS to Lorain Mercy Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
A female passenger on the motorcycle, Satira A. King, 26, of Amherst was transported by Metro Life Flight to Cleveland Metro Hospital with life-threatening injuries. King was pronounced deceased on Tuesday July 12 as a result of those injuries.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, neither the driver or the passenger was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Drugs and/or alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash though the Highway Patrol did not specify which substance is suspected.
The incident remains under investigation.
