ELYRIA, Ohio — The Elyria Police Department is investigating a "fatal vehicle accident" involving a pedestrian and an ambulance.
According to a news release, officers were called at 3:03 p.m. Monday for the accident that happened at 310 East Avenue, which is the address for the Riverview Plaza apartments.
The fatal accident involved a Lifecare Ambulance and a pedestrian, according to Elyria Police Captain Phillip Hammonds.
The victim has since been identified as 74-year-old Carol Pitzer of Elyria.
"Officers are actively investigating the accident," Hammonds added.
