CLEVELAND — A Cuyahoga County man has died following a one-car crash on I-90 in Avon Friday morning, police said.
According to the Avon Police Department, dispatchers received "several" 911 calls reporting a crash on I-90 Westbound, east of Nagel Road, at around 6:35 a.m.
Police and fire department personnel investigated the scene and found an unresponsive single occupant of a 2023 BMW who had sustained "significant injuries."
The Lorain County Coroner was requested to the scene and the man, identified as 38-year-old Krzsztof Grabowski of Gates Mills, was pronounced dead.
According to police, 911 callers told dispatchers that Grabowski's vehicle appeared to have crashed into a light pole.
Avon police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
