CLEVELAND — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-car rollover crash that left a 21-year-old man dead in Lorain County on Thursday morning.
Troopers say the fatal crash happened near the intersection of Biggs Road and Whitehead Road in LaGrange Township.
According to a media release, a 2020 Ford F-150 pickup truck was driving north on Whitehead Road when it collided with a 2007 Ford Focus who had failed to yield for a stop sign. The Focus "subsequently rolled onto its side and was pushed to the right side of the roadway." Both cars came to a stop outside of the roadway following the collision.
A passenger in the Focus, identified as LaGrange resident Patrick Cross, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say Cross was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
The driver of the Focus, a 22-year-old Wellington man, was taken to a nearby hospital via Metro Life Flight for precautionary evaluation.
The driver of the F-150, a 43-year-old Wadsworth man, was taken to an Elyria hospital via ambulance with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the OSHP's Elyria post.
