Lorain City Schools to offer counselors, social workers following lockdown last week

The district made the announcement on social media Sunday evening.

Counselors and social workers will be available to the faculty, staff and students at Lorain City Schools Monday following last week’s lockdown.

Lorain High School and three other schools were place on a level two lock down Thursday morning. A level two lockdown indicates that there is a threat outside of the school building.

As a result, all of the buildings doors and windows were locked, and no one was allowed to enter or leave the building.  

The lockdown was eventually lifted, and students were released.Officials have not yet released the details of the threat.

Representatives from The Nord Center, Beech Brook and LHS will be available as early as 7 a.m. For the exact location of the support teams, click here.
