LORAIN, Ohio — The Lorain City School District community is mourning the loss of a seven-year-old student who died unexpectedly earlier this week.
According to a statement posted to the district's Facebook account, 13-year-old Justin Razo died earlier this week after being removed from General Johnnie Wilson Middle School.
"Today was a difficult day, as we learned of the tragic loss of one of our students at GJW," the school district wrote on Facebook.
Lorain City School officials say that counselors and pastoral services were available to students and staff this week after the news of Justin's death.
According to a GoFundMe set up by a member of the Razo family, Justin leaves behind two younger brothers, Kevin and Daniel, and his parents, Ana Maria Garnica and Raul Razo. The GoFundMe also says that Justin was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at birth.
"The entire Razo family is heartbroken beyond words and has immense needs at this time. The loss of a child is something a family never gets over. Please help in any way you can to lessen the burden and comfort the family at this time," the description of the fundraiser reads.
"At home, Justin loved to play with Kevin and Daniel, and with three boys in the house, it meant home was always full of excitement and love. He was the kind of kid who always told his family he loved them and he never liked to be alone," the GoFundMe continues.
