ELYRIA, Ohio — Many with birthdays at the end of March and in April are feeling the blues with the cornavirus pandemic resulting in preventative restrictions being placed on many forms of celebrating.
Luckily for one Lorain woman, celebrating her 100th birthday, her family had a plan.
On Sunday, Vera Hughes of Elyria was surprised with a party complete with yard signs, messages and even songs from her friends and neighbors.
Vera was born in England and later married a American serviceman during World War II. She assisted with the recovery efforts during the war.
