LORAIN, Ohio — A new playground is coming to the city of Lorain – but this one is uniquely themed to a fire station.
Firefighters from Lorain will begin constructing the new playground in the 2500 block of Garfield Boulevard at 8 a.m. Wednesday. The location is adjacent to Lorain Fire Station Number 4 on the city’s east side.
City officials say the playground “will be the anchor component of Garfield Park.”
The Lorain Engineering Department plotted the space and Lorain Parks employees anchored the foundations to prepare the playground for “build day” this week.
“The new playground was designed by Jeff Snider of Snider Recreation under the direction of Public Property manager Lori Garcia and the City of Lorain Parks Department,” city officials noted in a press release Monday.
