AVON, Ohio — It’s been long time coming.
Sunflowers at Maria’s Field of Hope in Avon are finally beginning to bloom.
The organization took to social media Thursday to inform supporters.
“The field has experienced soil nutrient challenges this year. Some of the flowers are blooming shorter than expected, but still beautiful,” the post read.
The Prayers for Maria Foundation has struggled to secure a permanent location for the sunflower fields. The are aiming to raise enough money to acquire land that they can properly nourish.
According to the post, they planted five different types of sunflowers at the Avon field to document the size and length of the bloom.
“We are still unsure when the other flower varieties will bloom as God and Mother Nature hold the calendar,” the post continued.
The post also encouraged people to visit Maria’s Field of Hope at Cedar Point as it is currently in full bloom.
