WADSWORTH, Ohio — The Wadsworth City School District turned to social media Monday morning to address an alleged threat connected to a student at Wadsworth Middle School.
School officials say the student made comments online about shooting specific employees at the middle school. No specific students were named.
“The Wadsworth Police Department was able to locate the student at the student's house this morning,” the district noted on Facebook. “The student was not in possession of a weapon and does not have access to a weapon.”
The situation is under investigation with the Wadsworth Police Department.
“Those who were mentioned by name in the online post have been made aware. We believe that the actions taken this morning by the Wadsworth Police Department and the middle school administration addressed this situation, and, as a result, there is no safety concern relating to this situation for students and staff at the middle school today.”
The district is asking parents to continue monitoring their child’s online activities.
No additional details were immediately available.
